Zero Balancing What is it? Zero Balancing is a form of bodywork that promotes health and wellbeing through balancing the structure and energy of the body. Fritz Smith founded Zero Balancing in 1973. He combined wisdom and knowledge from Eastern and Western traditions and translated them through touch. Improving the energy flow of the body, primarily the energy in bone, this work strengthens and clears the energetic field. Changes must occur in this field first in order to create change in the body. Improvements in this field are made through specific touch techniques to bone, promoting overall wellbeing and specific condition relief. What can I expect? Sessions usually last 30-60 minutes, with the client fully clothed lying face up on a massage table. The Zero Balancer will evaluate, balance, and re-evaluate several areas of the whole body. Contact that creates a point around which the person can orient of balance is held for three seconds or even less. Several of these movements will be repeated for each area. Contact movements include lifting with the finger tips, bending, pushing, pulling, sliding or rotating. Expect to feel deeply relaxed, more balanced and well rounded. Clients report increased energy, having a keener awareness of the world around them and a more positive outlook. What are the reported benefits? Zero Balancing promotes balanced energy flow, body/mind integration, and improves postural alignment. Zero Balancing is known to reduce aches and pains in the body. Stored tissue memories are released helping people to gain perspective on the events of their lives. It enhances personal development and transformation as well as feelings of deeper connection, inner peace and wholeness. How much does it cost? Sessions vary in cost depending on length, location and therapist training. Generally it may cost between $50- $100 or more for 30-60 minute balancing sessions. Often, three sessions are recommended. What kind of training is required? Zero Balancing curriculum consists of two core classes. Practicing Zero Balancers have been to at least Zero Balancing 1 (a 25 hour workshop) and performed 30 sessions. Certified Zero Balancers study 150+ hours of advanced skills in energy and structure integration.
