Touch For Health

What is it?

Touch For Health Kinesiology uses simple muscle testing as a biofeedback tool to find and release blocks of energy flow in the body. Created by Dr. John Thie , D.C. in the 1970’s. He loved the results of Applied Kinesiology, which was created by George Goodheart, D.C., so much, he wrote an instruction book for patients. This originated “Touch For Health.” The simple, user friendly techniques in his book balance the 14 major meridians of the body, reducing restrictions and built up stress and increasing energy flow. This naturally increases good health. Today, the practice of Touch For Health draws upon 30 years of Kinesiology, traditional to modern Eastern and Western medicine and several healing disciplines.

What can I expect?

Touch For Health sessions can be done seated, standing or lying down with clothes on. You participate with the practitioner in light, small, muscle testing and monitoring movements. Usually all of the body’s meridians will be cleared.

What are the reported benefits?

Touch for Health Kinesiology speeds recovery time from illnesses, and reduces or relieves pain. It increases energy levels and reduces fatigue. Touch for Health demonstrates which foods reduce your energy. TFH Kinesiology improves your posture, too. TFH boosts the body’s own natural ability to heal itself.

Also , clients and practitioners report relief from allergies, sinusitis, hot flushes, constipation, acid stomach, skin problems, digestive upset, eating disorders, stiff neck, aches and pains and mood swings.

How much does it cost?

Costs vary with therapists’ experience and location. Ranging from $40-$100 or more for 30-90 minute sessions.

What kind of training is required?

Touch For Health is taught in four levels. Ask your practitioner for details. Practitioners often do other forms of body therapy such as massage, chiropractic, etc.

Touch For Health courses apply toward continuing education units for massage therapists, and registered nurses.

TFH is relatively easy to do on yourself and others. By taking a class or using the book you can learn the techniques and achieve results immediately.
