Introduction

Everyone wants to live a healthy, happy, successful life. Bodywork or body therapy is one of the key ways you can improve your health, your self and your life.

Many people believe that health is everything. The physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of each person are interconnected beyond separation. There is no distinction between the energy of the whole being and the energy of the body. So, there is no concrete distinction between bodywork and energywork. Though therapies may differ in names or techniques, you will find they share the same ultimate goals.

Our health is a direct reflection of the integration or oneness of our bodies with our nonphysical components. Most people recognize the body, mind, and spirit of our infinite, complex nonphysical selves. When we nurture our physical bodies, we enhance the mind and spirit. The opposite is also true. Nurturing our nonphysical selves significantly enhances our physical bodies. This means all changes affect the whole person.

Integrating all aspects of the whole person is the basis for bodywork and body therapies.

Health is achieved by maintaining harmony and balance within the whole person, within his environment. Naturally, we are interconnected with our environment. Changes in our environment change us in some way. As we change, our environment also changes. Health is achieved by maintaining harmony and balance within the whole person, within his environment. In our daily lives, it is a worthy effort to maintain balance within ourselves, within our changing environment.

Establishing and maintaining harmony and balance in the whole person is a primary goal of bodywork and body therapies.

Bodywork helps with integrating the whole person…harmony and balance…achieving vital health which is everything….

Now, which bodywork modality is right for you, right now?

We are very fortunate that there are many modalities available to us! Whether in your neighborhood or online, there’s bodywork available! There may be many that appeal to you or just one that you know is exactly what you want to explore. For years, as body therapists, we have been educating people about the different modalities available today. Encouraging you to explore the wide world of bodywork is our pleasure. We have been inspired to provide a Guide to Body Therapies. Our goal is inform and inspire people who are seeking this information.

This free E-book is a guide to Body Therapies from the eyes of body therapists. It is literally an insider’s guide to Body Therapy. We cover many different modalities as described body therapists who do the therapy or have experienced it. We are professionally trained to do 8 of them ourselves. Since we now specialize and only do 2 or 3, we have consulted associates who specialize in the others. We have also experienced many of these therapies ourselves as clients. Others, we learned about by consulting with other therapists who have experienced them first hand.

Over the years, many people have asked us about the different kinds of body therapies. Many people are interested in holistic healing and encouraging their own natural healing but don’t know what’s available. People are now aware of the body’s infinite intelligence and ability to heal itself. We have compiled some general information and resources.

There are definite benefits to each therapy. There are reasons you may choose one over the other for specific needs. This guide is an attempt to offer information about each therapy in as much of an unbiased way as possible. This is by no means a comprehensive assessment of each therapy. It is only a general overview. Each therapy is helpful for the right person at the right time.

The intention of this guide is to better align a client’s desires with that of the best suited therapy or health practitioner. The guide will help clients make more educated choices and assessments of each therapy. We are unique human beings. As we each have our own thumbprint, we have a unique configuration that makes up our system. Therefore, the results vary for each person, each time. There are no limits to the results. Each person lines up with the therapy that is appropriate for them at the time.

We firmly believe in the idea of trusting the universe and our interconnectedness with the universe. When we are willing to listen, see or sense, we will be led to advantageous and meaningful experiences in our lives. We find this is particularly true with therapies. Most people get many more unexpected benefits from a therapy than they were originally seeking.

Body Therapy is critical in our modern society. As we become more technologically advanced, the inclination is towards a less active and less mobile society. Sitting in front of a computer all day for some is a daily activity. People begin to wonder why the neck or low back hurts. They may have forgotten they had a body for most of the time they are punching away at the keyboard. This has us seeking new ways to improve our bodies and our selves. Seeking to integrate with the body may begin with increased body awareness. Body therapy expands your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual awareness and wellbeing. Body therapy helps you to maintain balance in your environment.

Our bodies are amazing. We can learn a lot about ourselves if we pay attention to them. Our bodies are eager to tell us, show us and let us feel wonderful things. Our bodies are eager to integrate with all of our being… so we can know the amazing being that we truly are. All we have to do is be open and allow it.

All of these body therapies are great in that they provide a focused environment to pay attention to our ever present and unbelievably intelligent, hard working and spiritual bodies. Change, or healing, is the body’s natural response to relaxation. Bodywork is a wonderful way to begin. So, relax and enjoy learning something new about bodywork.
